About the author

ooooA native New Yorker and graduate of Barnard College, Barbara Ravage has been writing about science, health, and medicine for more than twenty-five years. In addition to publications for general readers and health care professionals, she has written books for school-age children, including biographies of the environmentalist pioneer Rachel Carson and the prolific inventor George Westinghouse. She is a member of the National Association of Science Writers and now lives on Cape Cod.

Burn Unit: Saving Lives After the Flames is her seventh book.
